Admissions Open for 2026/2027 Academic Year

The Academic Registrar of Uganda Petroleum Institute Kigumba invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for admission into National Diploma Programmes for the Academic Year 2026/2027.

Uganda Petroleum Institute Kigumba (UPIK) is a Government-aided tertiary institution under the Ministry of Education and Sports, established in 2009 to train technicians and craftsmen for the Oil and Gas industry and other related sectors. All programmes are accredited by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE).

Closing Date: Friday 29th May 2026

ELIGIBILITY:

Eligible Candidates should have any of the following:

At least one Principal pass in a Science subject and two Subsidiary passes at A ‘Level, obtained at the same siting.
National Certificate in a relevant engineering field preferably, Electrical, Mechanical, Welding, Machining, Plumbing or Instrumentation, with passes in sciences at O’level.
Mature age entry Certificate obtained in Physical sciences from a recognized Institution
Higher Education Access Certificate obtained in Physical sciences from a recognized Institution

To apply online, follow these steps:

Complete the application process on Institution’s Online Admissions Portal URL https://admissions.upik.ac.ug
Sign up using full name, e-mail and Mobile No. Please note that your name must be similar to the one on your supporting academic documents for your application to be considered valid. If you changed your names please go to Administration Building Academic Registrar’s Office with an affidavit supporting the name change.
A password will be sent to both your e-mail and mobile number.
The system will prompt you to change the password to the one you can easily remember.
To fill a form the applicant clicks on the APPLY NOW button displayed on the running scheme.
Obtain a Payment Reference Number (PRN) by clicking on “Pay for Form” Button
Make a payment at any of the Stanbic Bank Branches or Mobile Money Options

Hard Copy Application Procedure

Obtain application forms from the Academic Registrar’s Office or download from the website
Pay a non-refundable application fee of UGX 55,000
Submit the completed form with proof of payment
