The Uganda Petroleum Institute Kigumba Guild Representative Council is a collaborative link between the students’ body and the Uganda Petroleum Institute Kigumba Administration and abbreviated as GRC. It is headed by a Guild President who is the overall leader and democratically elected by the students in accordance with the existing guidelines in the Guild Constitution.

The GRC provides representation of all students of Uganda Petroleum Institute Kigumba and campaigns to create change on issues affecting students at an institutional, local and national level. It also arranges individual representation for students facing academic appeals, disciplinary hearings and other procedures in the respective committee holding such issues.

students of the Institute are by law automatically members of the Guild unless they deliberately opt out; the role of the GRC is to represent this body of membership.
